Turning the device ON and OFF:
There are three different ways the user can turn the device ON:
1. By pressing the touch power button for 5 seconds.
NOTE: If the device is powered on with the internal swivel antenna down, the device will warn
the user via a pop-up dialogue if it doesn’t detect an external antenna is connected
2. Lifting the internal swivel antenna from the lowered position to an upright position.
3. By connecting the charger (optional). This setting can be modified from within the settings. By
default, the device doesn’t power on when charger is plugged in.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The first time you take the Iridium GO! exec out of the box, it will not turn on unless you plug it into the active charger to wake up the device. This is called 'Storage Mode'. More on this mode and how to enable it again below.
IMPORTANT NOTE: First time onboarding: When powering up the Iridium GO! exec for the first time out of the box or after a factory reset, the Iridium GO! exec will automatically guide the user through a set of onboarding screens. The onboarding screens ensure the most important configuration items are brought to the user’s attention before first use.
There are three different ways to turn the GO! exec device OFF:
1. Pressing the touch power button.
2. Selecting Settings > Power Off the device > Power Off button.
3. Lowering the internal swivel antenna from the raised position to a lowered position.
Storage Mode:
The Iridium GO! exec can be put in a storage mode to minimize battery drain whilst in storage. If the Iridium GO! exec is to be stored for an extended period of time (e.g., several months) without being charged, it is advised to enable storage mode.
1. Select Settings > Power Off the device
2. Select "Activate storage mode” then press the “Power off” button.
IMPORTANT NOTE: An active charger must be connected to the Iridium GO! exec to wake up the device from storage mode.
Power Settings and Configuration
Power ON/OFF Based on Antenna lift
The Iridium GO! exec Power on/off can be controlled by raising/lowering the internal antenna. This
is convenient if the device is being used with an internal antenna. Simply lift the internal antenna to
power on the device, then lower the antenna to power off the Device when you have finished using
it. There is no need to separately press the power button.
NOTE: The power button can still be used to power the Device on and off regardless of the
antenna power control setting.
When the “Power on/off Based on Antenna Lift” is selected, lifting the internal antenna causes the
Iridium GO! exec to turn on (if the Iridium GO! exec is already on, nothing happens). When the
“Power on/off Based on Antenna Lift” is de-selected, the internal antenna has no bearing on the
Device power state.
To enable/disable this setting, on the main device touch screen:
1. Select Settings > Device Power Config
2. Enable 'Power ON/OFF Based on Antenna Lift'
Power ON Based on Charger Connection
The Iridium GO! exec can be configured to power on when an external charger is connected.
When selected, the Iridium GO! exec will power up when an active charger is connected. When not selected, the Iridium GO! exec will remain off when the active charger is connected.
NOTE: The battery will still charge if necessary.
To enable this setting:
1. Select Settings > Device Power Config
2. Enable 'Automatically power on the device charger'
