The Iridium GO! exec can be powered on or off in several ways. The sections below describe each method and provide configuration options that allow you to tailor the device’s power behavior to your needs.
Ways to turn the device ON
Press and hold the touch power button for about five seconds.
Note: If the device is powered on while the internal antenna is down, a pop-up warning will appear if no external antenna is detected.Lift the internal swivel antenna from the lowered position to the upright position.
Connect the charger (optional). This behavior depends on your power settings. By default, the device does not turn on automatically when the charger is connected.
Important note: The very first time you take the Iridium GO! exec out of the box, the device will not turn on until it is connected to an active charger. This is due to “Storage Mode,” which conserves battery during shipping.
First-time onboarding
When the GO! exec is powered on for the first time out of the box, or after a factory reset, it will guide you through onboarding screens that highlight important configuration steps before use.
Ways to turn the device OFF
Press the touch power button.
Go to Settings > Power Off the device > Power Off.
Lower the internal swivel antenna from upright to the lowered position.
Storage Mode
Storage mode helps reduce battery drain when the device will not be used for an extended period.
To place the device into storage mode
Select Settings > Power Off the device.
Select “Activate storage mode” and press “Power off”.
Important note: An active charger must be connected to wake the device from storage mode.
Power settings and configuration
Power ON/OFF based on antenna movement
You can configure the device to turn on when the internal antenna is lifted and turn off when the antenna is lowered. This is useful when using the internal antenna frequently.
Notes
The power button can always be used, even when antenna-based control is enabled.
Lifting the antenna powers on the device only if it was off. Lowering the antenna powers off the device only if this setting is enabled.
To enable or disable antenna-based power control
Select Settings > Device Power Config.
Enable or disable “Power ON/OFF Based on Antenna Lift”.
Power ON based on charger connection
You can configure the device to power on automatically when an active charger is connected.
When enabled, the device turns on immediately when plugged in.
When disabled, the device remains off unless you turn it on manually.
The battery will still charge regardless of this setting.
To enable this feature:
Select Settings > Device Power Config.
Enable “Automatically power on the device charger”.
