You can connect smart devices, computers, SIP phones and headsets to the Iridium GO! exec in several ways. The options below explain each method so you can choose the one that works best for your setup.
Important note
The default Wi-Fi password is password (all lowercase).
Set your device’s Wi-Fi network type to “Metered” (Android) or “Low Data Mode” (iOS) to reduce background data use.
Option 1: Connect using QR code (Smart Device)
Turn on the Iridium GO! exec by lifting the antenna or holding the power button for two seconds.
On the GO! exec touchscreen, open Settings, and select “Show Wi-Fi Access Credentials” to view the QR code, SSID, and password.
Open the Iridium GO! exec app on your smartphone.
When prompted to connect, choose the option to scan the QR code.
Point your device camera at the QR code and follow the on-screen instructions. The app will connect automatically.
Option 2: Connect manually through your device’s Wi-Fi settings
Make sure the Iridium GO! exec is turned on.
On the GO! exec, open Settings, and tap “Show Wi-Fi Access Credentials” to view the SSID and password. Tap “Show Password” if required.
On your phone or tablet, open Wi-Fi settings.
Select the Iridium GO! exec SSID displayed on the device.
Enter the password.
Once connected, open the Iridium GO! exec app, and it will log in automatically.
Note: If you have not started a satellite data session, your device may display a warning such as “Internet may not be available.” This is normal. Stay connected to the GO! exec Wi-Fi.
Option 3: Connect a PC via Wi-Fi
On your Windows computer, enable Wi-Fi from the Network icon on the taskbar.
Look for the network named Iridium-[6 digit serial number] (for example, Iridium-123456).
Select the network and click Connect.
Enter the Wi-Fi password (default: password).
Set this network as Metered to limit background data.
To set as Metered:
Open the Wi-Fi network Properties.
Scroll to Metered Connection.
Toggle On.
Option 4: Connect with Ethernet
Connect an Ethernet cable from your computer to port 3 on the Iridium GO! exec (marked with a network icon).
Lift the rubber flap covering the port if needed.
On your computer, open Network settings and select the wired Ethernet connection.
Set the Ethernet connection as Metered to reduce data usage.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This connection should be set as “metered” to minimize the amount of traffic sent to it from other services running on your computer. To configure as metered, select the Properties link for the selected network, scroll down to the Metered Connection setting, and click the button to toggle “On”.
Option 5: Connect a SIP phone
Connect the SIP phone’s Ethernet cable to the Iridium GO! exec.
Configure the SIP phone using the SIP server information found under Settings → About → SIP Server on the GO! exec.
