Different Ways to Connect to the Iridium GO! exec
IMPORTANT NOTE: The default WIFI password is 'password' (all lower case without the apostrophes)
With Smart Device via Mobile Application
There are two options to connect your Iridium GO! exec App to the Iridium GO! exec:
Option 1: Via QR Code
- If you have the Iridium GO! exec in reach, you can scan its QR code using the smart device
camera to connect to the Iridium GO! exec device's Wi-Fi. Open your Iridium GO! exec app
and select the status bar asking you to connect to the Iridium GO! exec Wi-Fi and select the
button requesting to scan the QR code. - On the Iridium GO! exec from the home screen select Settings icon then choose
”Show Wi-Fi Access Credentials” option to display the QR code. Point your smart device
camera at the QR code. Follow the onscreen prompts to connect the Iridium GO! exec App to
your Iridium GO! exec.
Option 2: Via Native Phone Wi-Fi Configuration
To manually connect your smart device to the Iridium GO! exec Wi-Fi, perform the following steps:
• Make sure the Iridium GO! exec is turned on. (Briefly tap the screen, if the display does not
light up, you have to power on the Device by pressing the power button or lifting up the internal
antenna upright).
• Find the Wi-Fi network name and password of your Iridium GO! exec by navigating to the
settings (cog) page, then selecting ”Show Wi-Fi access credentials” option to display the QR code
screen. Press the Show Password button to reveal the Wi-Fi password.
NOTE: the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and the password.
• Navigate to the Wi-Fi network selection screen on your smart device.
• Select the Wi-Fi network name matching that of your Iridium GO! exec from the previous step.
• Enter the Wi-Fi password of your Iridium GO! exec from the previous step.
• Your smart device should now be connected to the Iridium GO! exec Wi-Fi network.
NOTE: If you have not started a satellite data session, your smart device may notify you that
the Wi-Fi has no internet access. This is expected if your Iridium GO! exec is not currently in a
data session. Please refer to Connection Manager section in the Manual for how to enable a data session.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is also strongly suggested you change the Wi-Fi network type on your smart device to “Metered” (for Android) or “Low Data Mode” (for iOS) so the amount of background data is
minimized.
Option 3: Connect PC via Wi-Fi
To connect your computer to the Iridium GO! exec via Wi-Fi, perform the following steps:
• On your Windows machine enable wireless networking by selecting the Network icon on
the taskbar at the bottom right of your screen. Then select Wi-Fi button with the left mouse
button. The screen should look like this if the Wi-Fi has been enabled:
A list of available Wi-Fi networks should also be showing. Your Iridium GO! exec network name is
'Iridium-[6 digit serial number]' e.g., Iridium-123456.
• Move your mouse over the network labeled Iridium-[6 digit serial number] and select it.
• Select “Connect”
• Enter the network security key – the default network security key is “password”
IMPORTANT NOTE: This connection should be set as “metered” to minimize the amount of traffic sent to it from other services running on your computer. To configure as metered, select the Properties link for the selected network, scroll down to the Metered Connection setting, click the button to toggle “On”.
Option 4: With Ethernet
• Connect an ethernet cable from your desktop/laptop ethernet port to the ethernet port (port 3)
on your Iridium GO! exec.
• The Iridium GO! exec ethernet port can easily be identified by the network icon on the
product surface.
(Be sure to lift the rubber flap over the Iridium GO! exec ethernet port before attempting to
connect the ethernet cable)
• On your desktop/laptop, select the Network icon on the taskbar at the bottom right of your
screen. Then select the Network & Internet settings to show the ethernet connection from the
list with the left mouse button (there should only be one):
IMPORTANT NOTE: This connection should be set as “metered” to minimize the amount of traffic sent to it from other services running on your computer. To configure as metered, select the Properties
link for the selected network, scroll down to the Metered Connection setting, click the button to
toggle “On”.
Option 5: With SIP Phones
• Plug the Ethernet connection from the SIP phone into the Iridium GO! exec.
• You will need to configure the SIP phone to connect to the SIP server in the Iridium GO! exec.
Please refer to the SIP phone user manual for setting up the SIP phone using the information
provided in the SIP server menu.
• The Server name and credentials are available from the Iridium GO! exec by navigating to the
Settings→ About→ Sip Server menu:
Option 6: Using Headsets (USB-C only!)
Voice calls can be made and received on the Iridium GO! exec using a USB-C digital headset.
The Iridium GO! exec headset port (port 5) can be easily identified by the headset icon on the case.
(Be sure to lift the rubber flap over the Iridium GO! exec headset port before attempting to
connect the headset cable).
NOTE: Only digital headsets are supported. If you have a 3.5 mm headset you can connect it to
the Iridium GO! exec by using a digital 3.5 mm to USB-C adapter (not provided). Note that analog
adapter is not supported.
NOTE: Once a headset is plugged in, all system sounds will also be heard through the headset,
with the exception of incoming call ringing signal that is played in both the headset and the Iridium
GO! exec speaker.
