This checklist walks you through the essential steps to set up your Iridium GO! exec for the first time. Please review each section carefully, and watch the setup video at the bottom of the article.
Before you begin

Step 1: Set up the Iridium GO! exec
Insert your SIM.
Charge the device fully before first use.
Step 2: Download and set up the Iridium GO! exec app
On your smart device, use Wi-Fi or cellular data to download the Iridium GO! exec app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Turn on the Iridium GO! exec by lifting the antenna or holding the power button.
Ensure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on your smart device.
On the GO! exec screen, tap the Settings (cog) icon, then tap Show Wi-Fi access credentials to view the QR code, SSID, and password.
Open the Iridium GO! exec app and scan the QR code to connect automatically.
If you prefer to connect manually:
Open Wi-Fi settings on your smart device.
Select the network name “Iridium-XXXXXX” that appears on the GO! exec screen.
Enter the default password: password.
Once connected, open the GO! exec app and it will log in automatically.
Important
To minimize data use, set your device Wi-Fi connection to “Low Data Mode” (iOS) or “Metered/Data Saver” (Android).
Firmware updates are delivered through the Iridium GO! exec app. If prompted to update firmware, follow the instructions on screen.
Step 3: Set up SOS

Step 4: Download and Set Up the Iridium Mail App
Note: As of May 2023, the Iridium Mail app for the GO! exec has not yet been released. The original “Iridium Mail & Web” app is not compatible. OCENS OneMail may be used temporarily.
Download the Iridium Mail app once it becomes available.
Register for your Iridium email address at https://www.iridium.com/mailandweb/
Open the Iridium Mail app and log in using your new username and password.
Step 5: Download and Set Up the Iridium Chat App
The Iridium Chat app supports Iridium Certus IMT messaging, allowing you to send messages without using GO! exec data.
Download and read the Iridium Chat App User Guide.
Download the Iridium Chat app from the App Store or Google Play.
Follow the guide to link your Iridium GO! exec, register your account and add contacts.
Important
Your GO! exec must be updated to firmware version 2.0.3 or higher to use Iridium Chat.
The app links via Bluetooth, so ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smart device.
First-time setup requires high-speed internet or a clear view of the sky to link via the Iridium network.
Step 6: Ensure everything is working
Place a test call using the Iridium GO! exec app.
Note: Use full international dialing: 00 + country code + phone number.Send a message using the Iridium Chat app or a supported messaging app such as WhatsApp or Messenger.
Important: The GO! exec does not support native SMS.Send and receive email using a GO! exec data profile and a native email app or the OCENS OneMail app.
Step 7: Share your Iridium contact details
Provide your Iridium +8816 number to friends and family so they can reach you.
Note: Calls to satellite numbers are billed at international rates and can be expensive from mobile phones. Consider using a landline or Iridium two-stage dialing.If you expect calls from the United States, consider registering for a +1 number to reduce calling costs. Contact your service provider for details.
Share your Iridium email address (when available), your OCENS OneMail address, or another email that you have tested successfully with your GO! exec.
Note: The free Iridium messaging webpage (https://messaging.iridium.com/) does not support the GO! exec because it sends SMS, which the GO! exec does not currently support.
