Custom Web/App Profiles allow you to control which applications on your smart device or computer can send or receive data through the Iridium GO! exec. These profiles support advanced filtering and are useful for reducing data usage and ensuring only the intended app accesses the satellite connection.
Creating or editing custom profiles requires basic networking and firewall knowledge. Some settings, such as ports or protocol requirements, must be obtained directly from the application or service provider. Customer Support does not have access to this information.
Profile configuration options
Each Web/App Profile includes the following configurable fields:
Profile name
Description
DNS blocking (enable or disable)
Rule policy (Allow All Except or Block All Except)
IP address or domain entries with optional wildcards
Port selection (single port, range, or all ports)
Protocol selection (TCP, UDP, or both)
User-created profiles are retained after a normal reboot. User-created profiles are deleted after a factory reset.
How to create a custom Web/App Profile
Open the Iridium GO! exec app and go to Device Settings.
Select Web/App Profiles to view the list of predefined and user-created profiles.
Tap the + button in the top right corner to add a new profile.
Enter a profile name and a short description.
Select the Rule Policy:
Allow All Except (Blacklist) – all traffic allowed except what is defined in rules
Block All Except (Whitelist) – all traffic blocked except what is defined in rules
Under Profile Rules, tap the + button to add a rule.
For each rule, define:
A single IP, IP range, or domain (wildcards allowed, for example: 201.130.12.* or *.facebook.com)
The port or port range (0–65535)
The protocol type (TCP, UDP, or both)
Repeat rule creation as needed. Up to 20 rules can be included in one profile.
Save the profile. Up to 10 custom profiles can be created.
Managing existing profiles
Predefined Web/App Profiles cannot be edited or deleted.
User-created profiles can be managed as follows:
Create: Tap the + button
Edit: Tap the > icon next to any profile
Delete: Swipe left on a profile to reveal Delete or Copy
