The SOS button on the Iridium GO! exec allows you to place an emergency call to a designated Emergency Service Provider (ESP). This feature must be configured before use.
Important: The SOS feature must be configured before it can place an emergency call. If the SOS button is pressed without being configured, no call will be placed. This could delay emergency assistance.

You can initiate an SOS from a smartphone connected to the Iridium GO! exec using the companion app.
Note
If an SOS is already active, the app will not allow another SOS to be started.

Select the SOS tab from the bottom navigation bar.
Press and hold the SOS button until the countdown completes.
The device will show a pending SOS screen with a timer.

Once the pending timer expires, the Iridium GO! exec will display the outgoing call screen indicating:
- The contact details of the ESP you have configured
- Your current location
Once an SOS is active, the Iridium GO! exec app will automatically place an outbound call to your designated Emergency Service Provider (ESP). An operator will assist you with the emergency.
When asked for your location, read out the latitude and longitude coordinates shown on the Iridium GO! exec screen. These coordinates update as long as the device has a clear view of the sky.
If the call is ended, the device will return to the SOS active screen.
Important: Ending the call does not cancel the SOS event. The SOS remains active until it is manually cancelled or cleared by the Emergency Service Provider.
SOS active screen behaviour
When an SOS event is active, the Iridium GO! exec displays the SOS active screen. From this screen, you can redial your Emergency Service Provider or cancel the SOS event. Other device features remain accessible while the SOS is active.
The SOS event remains active as long as the red banner appears at the top of the screen.
During an active SOS call
While the Iridium GO! exec is actively connected to your Emergency Service Provider, the screen displays your current latitude and longitude. These coordinates are shown so you can relay your location verbally to the operator.
From this screen, you can only end the current call to the Emergency Service Provider.
Important: Ending the call does not cancel the SOS event. The SOS remains active even after the call ends.
Emergency calling notes
If you are located in the United States or Australia, you can also dial the local emergency numbers 911 (United States) or 000 (Australia). These calls can be placed even if a valid SIM card is not installed.
To ensure emergency calls connect successfully, the following behavior applies:
When an SOS voice call is triggered, any non-SOS calls in progress on Line 1 or Line 2 are automatically ended so the SOS call can go through. The SOS call always uses Line 1.
You cannot start another emergency call while an SOS call is already in progress.
Dialing emergency numbers such as 911 or 000 will also end any active non-emergency calls on Line 1 or Line 2 to allow the emergency call to proceed. These calls may use Line 1 or Line 2.
