Iridium GO! - Pre-Trip Setup and Checklist

Make sure to read through the instructions below after watching the quick-start video above!

Use the steps below to set up your Iridium GO! device, install the required apps, and confirm everything is working before first use.

Set up the Iridium GO!

• Insert the SIM card.

• Insert the battery.

• Plug in and fully charge the Iridium GO!.

Download and set up the Iridium GO! app

1. Using high-speed internet (Wi-Fi or cellular), download the Iridium GO! app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

2. Power on the Iridium GO! by lifting the antenna.

3. On your smart device, open Settings.

4. Select Wi-Fi Networks.

5. Select IRDM-XXXX, which is the Iridium GO! Wi-Fi network.

6. Your smart device is now connected to the Iridium GO! Wi-Fi.

7. Open the Iridium GO! app and sign in using the default credentials:
   Username: guest
   Password: guest

Configure SOS and tracking

1. In the Iridium GO! app, open Settings.

2. Set up SOS. To enable emergency services, you must register with GEOS (IERCC) at www.geosalliance.com/iridium.

3. In Settings, configure Tracking if you plan to use location updates.

Once completed, the Iridium GO! app setup is finished.

Download and set up a mail app (discontinued) 

1. Download the Iridium Mail app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Iridium Mail & Web App (Discontinued)

2. Register for an Iridium email address using the Iridium Mail registration process.

3. Open the Iridium Mail app and sign in with your registered username and password.

Confirm everything is working

1. Place a test call using the Iridium GO! app: Use the full international dialing format: 00 + country code + phone number.

2. Send a test SMS using the Iridium GO! app: Use the full international dialing format.

3. Send a Quick GPS message to confirm tracking updates are working.

4. Send and receive email using a satellite-optimized third-party email service such as OCENS OneMail.

Share your Iridium contact details

Provide friends and family with your Iridium +8816 phone number. Calls to this number are international and will be billed to the caller at their long-distance rate.

If you expect calls from the United States, consider registering for a +1 number so callers can reach you at domestic rates. Contact your service provider for details.

Share your satellite-optimized email address if you created one using a third-party service such as OCENS OneMail.

Provide friends and family with the Iridium free messaging webpage: https://messaging.iridium.com/. This allows them to send free SMS messages to your Iridium number.
