This article explains how to turn SMS tracking on or off using the Iridium GO! app, and what to expect once tracking is enabled.
Note: Each tracking message sent is charged as an outgoing SMS on your Iridium monthly plan or deducted from your Iridium prepaid balance.
Enabling SMS Tracking
Follow these steps to start sending tracking messages by SMS.
Connect your mobile device to the Iridium GO! Wi-Fi network.
Open the Iridium GO! application.
Select “Login,” then enter your credentials. Tip: The default username and password are both “guest.”
Select “Settings,” then select “Track.”
Select “Tracking Frequency,” then choose how often tracking messages should be sent.
Select “Tracking Recipient,” then enter one of the following:
A phone number for SMS, using international format (for example, +1 followed by area code and number)
An email address
Save the settings to apply them.
Once saved, the Iridium GO! will begin sending tracking messages automatically based on the selected frequency.
Disabling SMS Tracking
To stop tracking messages:
Follow the same steps above to open the “Tracking Frequency” menu.
Select “No update.”
Save your changes.
Important: If tracking is enabled, tracking messages continue to be sent automatically based on the selected frequency, even if the Iridium GO! app is closed or your smartphone is turned off.
