To use your IsatPhone 2, you first need to connect it to the Inmarsat satellite network. Follow these simple steps to get your phone connected and ready for use.
- Extend and point the antenna. Rotate the antenna on your IsatPhone 2 so it’s fully extended and pointing straight up toward the sky.
- Face the right direction. Turn your body and the phone to face roughly toward the Equator (the middle of the Earth). This helps the phone find the satellite more easily.
- Find a clear spot. Make sure you are outside with a clear view of the sky. Avoid trees, buildings, or anything overhead that might block the signal.
- Wait for the signal. Look at your phone’s screen, you should see signal bars start to appear as the phone searches for a satellite.
- Confirm connection. When the phone shows Ready for service, it means you’re successfully connected and can make or receive calls.
Note: The video below will show how to connect and provide basic use information. Inmarsat satellites stay fixed above the Equator, so to get a connection, you need to point your phone in the right direction. If you don’t face the right way, your phone won’t connect to the network. Look at the signal bars on your screen. If you don’t see any, slowly turn your phone about 90 degrees to the right and keep doing this until you see the signal bars appear.
