Isatphone 2 - How To Send a Text (SMS) Message

Sending a text message with your IsatPhone 2 is straightforward once the phone is connected to the Inmarsat network. The steps below show you how to compose, address, and send a message successfully.

Important

• Each text message is limited to 160 characters, including spaces and punctuation.

• Multimedia messages (photos, videos, emojis) are not supported.

• Wait for confirmation that the message was sent successfully.

Create and Send a Message

1. Rotate the antenna so it is pointing at the sky.

2. Face toward the general direction of the Equator.

3. Wait for the signal bars to appear as the handset registers to the network.

4. When the screen displays “Ready for service”, you can begin messaging.

5. Press Menu.

6. Select Messaging and press Select.

7. Scroll to New message and press Options.

8. Scroll again to New message and press Select.

9. Scroll to Text message and press Select.

10. Enter the destination phone number (for example, +1 206 329 1947) in the To field.

11. Enter your message in the text field, up to 160 characters.

12. Press Options when the message is ready.

13. Scroll to Send and press Select.
