Iridium satellite phones use international phone numbers that look a bit different from standard North American numbers. This guide explains what to expect and where to find your assigned number on your rental device.
What Does an Iridium Phone Number Look Like?
An Iridium phone number follows a global format, and it's longer than typical phone numbers. It looks like this:
+8816 234 12345
- +8816 is the county code.
- The remaining 8 digits are the unique phone number.
Note: Keep in mind that the example pictures below have the last two digits edited out for privacy reasons.
How to Find Your Iridium Phone Number
You can find the phone number assigned to your rental in a few different places:

Check Your Email

- Once your rental order has shipped, BlueCosmo will email you the phone number assigned to your device.
- You should receive this email within 24–48 hours after your order has been fulfilled.

Check the Side of the Phone

- The phone number is displayed on the side of the handset, typically on the right or left edge.

Look for a small printed label directly on the device. Here is an example:

Check the SIM Card Retainer

- Inside your rental bag, open the top flap.
- The SIM card retainer will also display your phone number.
