How to Dial Out from an Iridium Phone

Iridium satellite phones are international phones. No matter where you are located, the dialling pattern (steps to make a call) remains the same.

Step-by-Step: How To Make a Call

1. Go Outside:
   • • Go somewhere with a clear, unobstructed view of the sky.
     • Stay away from buildings, fences, dense forests, and other obstructions.  
     • Extend the antenna and point the tip of the antenna at the sky. 
2. Turn On the Phone: 
   • • The screen will show Searching at first.
     • Wait until the screen reads Registered and shows a solid 3-5 bars of signal.
3. Enter the Phone Number:
   1. • Press and hold the 0 key until you see a + (plus) sign.
      • Then, dial the country code and phone number. The country code for Canada and the USA is 1.
      • Finally, press the green call button.

Example: Calling a U.S. Number

To dial the United States-based Iridium test phone number, you would: 

1. Press and hold 0 until you see a +

2. Dial 1 (the country code for U.S./Canada)

3. Dial the full number: 4807525105

4. Your screen should show: +14807525105

5. Press the green call button.
