The Iridium GO! exec firmware controls how the device operates. Keeping the firmware up to date helps ensure stability, performance improvements, and access to the latest features. For instructions, please see Iridium GO! exec - Device Information.
Check the current firmware version
You can view the firmware version directly on the Iridium GO! exec device or in the Iridium GO! exec app when it is connected to the device.
To check on the device touchscreen: Select Settings > Device Information
To check in the Iridium GO! exec app: Open the app, navigate to device information, and view the same details shown on the device.
The firmware version appears as FW Version. Do not confuse this with Satellite Modem FW Version, which is listed separately on the same screen.

Updating the Iridium GO! exec firmware
The Iridium GO! exec firmware is updated through the Iridium GO! exec app. A USB cable or computer is not required. See: Iridium GO! exec - Download and Install the Required Companion Apps.
When the Iridium GO! exec app connects to the device, it automatically checks for available firmware updates. If an update is available, the app will notify you and guide you through the update process. The firmware update menu can also be used to apply an update if a previous prompt was skipped.

Important notes about firmware updates
Ensure the Iridium GO! exec app itself is up to date. Firmware updates are delivered through new versions of the app, so enable automatic app updates or update the app manually from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Installing firmware updates as they become available is strongly recommended. Updates include bug fixes, stability improvements, and service enhancements.
During the update process
When a firmware update completes, the Iridium GO! exec will reboot automatically. During this reboot, all Wi-Fi connections, voice calls, and data sessions will be disconnected.
Once the device restarts, reconnect using the Iridium GO! exec app to resume normal operation.
