-

Iridium 9575 (Extreme) and 9555
-
Depreciation of Direct Data Connections: Iridium is depreciating the direct connection method for data in satellite phones. This is due to changes in the way Windows and other systems provide external data connections.
-
Alternative Solutions: Most third-party vendors now use a USB-based router to create a connection to a computer, tablet or phone that runs compression-based software such as UUplus.
-
Driver Compatibility: Some companies still support a USB-connected satellite phone, but many are not able to get drivers for these devices to be compatible with modern operating systems. Iridium's website (https://www.iridium.com/idr-file/306200) hosts some drivers that should still be compatible with some modern Windows operating systems. The modem menus may have changed, but the underlying functionality should still exist in some versions of Windows.
