Iridium Extreme - How to Lock and Unlock the Keypad

You can lock the keypad on your Iridium Extreme® to prevent accidental dialing or settings changes when the phone is stored or carried. When the keypad is locked, all keys are disabled except for answering an incoming call.

Tip: Even when locked, you can still answer calls using the Left Soft Key or Green (Send) key.

Locking the Keypad

1. From the home screen, press the Left Soft Key to open Menu.

2. Use the Navi-key to scroll to Keypad Lock.

3. Press the Left Soft Key again to select and lock the keypad.

4. The screen will display Keypad Locked.

Note: The phone can still be powered off and on while the keypad is locked.

Unlocking the Keypad

1. Press the Left Soft Key.

2. Scroll to Unlock using the Navi-key.

3. Press the Left Soft Key again to confirm.

4. The display will show Keypad Unlocked.

Tip: If you frequently carry the phone in a pocket or bag, keeping the keypad locked helps prevent accidental calls or settings changes.

Best Practices

• Always lock the keypad before storing or transporting the phone.

• Unlock the keypad only when you need to make a call or adjust settings.

• Avoid pressing multiple keys quickly while unlocking to prevent errors.
