Your Iridium 9555 and Extreme (9575) satellite phone includes a voicemail service that allows callers to leave voice messages when you're unavailable. This guide explains how to access, manage, and configure your Iridium voicemail service.
General Voicemail Information
- The default voicemail PIN code is the last 7 digits of your phone number.
We recommend recording your PIN and storing it in a secure place. - When someone leaves you a voicemail:
- A text message notification will be sent to your phone.
- An envelope icon will appear on your display until the message is saved or deleted.
Confirm the Voicemail Service Number
To ensure voicemail is configured correctly:
- In 'Menu' select 'Voicemail' > 'Voicemail Settings' > 'Number'.
- If empty or incorrect, enter: +881662990000.
- Press Save.
Accessing Voicemail from Your Iridium phone
Make sure you are outside with a clear view of the sky, and the antenna is extended.
Wait until your phone displays Registered.
On the phone:
Press Menu
Select Voicemail
Select Call Voicemail
The phone will call voicemail. When connected:
Enter your full satellite phone number; type in the complete number starting with 8816.
The voicemail greeting will begin playing.
Interrupt the voicemail greeting with the * key.
You will then be prompted to enter the PIN code. The default PIN code is the last 7 digits of the satellite number
You will now have access to the Voicemail inbox. Follow the system prompts as you listen to your voicemail messages.
How to Check Voicemail from a Landline
If needed, you can check your Iridium voicemail from any landline. Please note that calling voicemail from a landline may incur high international call charges.
Call the Iridium Messaging Center at 011 8816 6299 0000 or dial the Iridium mobile number from any landline.
When prompted, enter your full 12-digit service number (i.e, 8816 XXX XXXXX).
You will be prompted to leave a message; interrupt this message by pressing the "*" key.
Enter your password when prompted; the default password (PIN) is the last 7 digits of your Iridium service number.
Follow the system prompts as you listen to your voicemail messages.
Set up Call Forwarding to Voicemail
To send missed calls directly to voicemail:
Make sure the satellite phone is ON, registered on the Iridium network. and has good signal strength.
In 'Menu' scroll down to and select 'Setup'.
Select 'Call Options' > 'Call Forwarding', wait until the list of options appears.
Select the desired option: 'All Calls', 'If Busy', 'If No Answer', or 'If Unavailable'.
Select 'Voicemail' from the list, wait until confirmed.
