What Is an Inmarsat Prepaid Plan?
With an IsatPhone prepaid SIM card:
You purchase a fixed amount of airtime units to use within a defined expiry period.
No contract or monthly fee, play only for what you need.
No activation fees, you can activate your SIM when you're ready.
You need to monitor your balance and expiry to ensure you have airtime when you need it. You can enable auto-refill and disable it from MyAccount.
You can refill the card at any time.
With prepaid service, you won’t receive a record of your calls.

One (1) minute of airtime uses 1.5 units.
One (1) SMS message uses .6 units.
Airtime Usage Rates (Burn Rates)
Incoming calls from landlines and cellular phones are free, and so are incoming SMS/text messages. The table below shows the rates for outgoing calls and messages.

How to Calculate Your Remaining Balance
To estimate how much airtime you have left, divide your current unit balance by the rate for the service you plan to use. For example, if you have 100 units remaining, you can calculate the following:
- Outgoing call to a mobile phone: 100 ÷ 1.5 = approximately 66 minutes of talk time.
- SMS messages: 100 ÷ 0.6 = approximately 166 text messages.
- Call to an Iridium satellite phone: 100 ÷ 12.7 = approximately eight minutes of talk time.
Keep in mind that calls to other satellite networks use units at a higher rate, so your balance will decrease more quickly for those call types. If you need to check your current unit balance, you can do so through your online account portal.
Before Activation
When you order prepaid airtime, your SIM card is not activated when it is shipped to prevent airtime expiration during delivery.

Once you receive your card, you can activate it whenever you want by logging in to your online account.

You have 12 months to activate the SIM card from the purchase date.
After Activation
Once activated, carefully insert the SIM card into your IsatPhone device.
You can then take the device outside, power it on, and you’ll be able to register with the network, make and receive calls.
