If you’re having trouble sending SMS messages with your IsatPhone 2, follow the steps below to check your settings and connection. If the issue continues, our support team is available to help.
Solution 1: Check the Service Center number
Press Menu.
Select the Messaging icon and press Select.
Press Options.
Select Settings and press Select.
Select Text Msg Settings and press Select.
Select SMSC management and press Select.
Highlight +870772001799 and press Options.
Select Activate and press Select.
Return to Messaging and try sending another text message.
Solution 2: Ensure the phone is registered to the network
Rotate the antenna toward the sky with no overhead obstructions, facing the Equator.
Press and hold the red power key until the screen lights up.
Wait while the handset searches for the network.
When the screen displays “Ready for service”, the device is registered.
Note: Inmarsat satellites are geostationary and positioned across the Equator. You must face the correct direction to acquire a signal. If no bars appear, rotate 90 degrees at a time until the signal improves.
Solution 3: Confirm you are using the correct dialing format
Press Menu.
Select the Messaging icon and press Select.
Select New message and press Options.
Select New message and press Select.
Select Text message and press Select.
Enter the full international number in the To field (for example, +1 206 329 1947).
Enter your message, up to 160 characters.
Press Options when the message is ready.
Select Send and press Select.
Solution 4: Ensure the recipient can receive international SMS
Satellite numbers are formatted internationally. The recipient must be able to receive messages from international numbers; otherwise, delivery may fail.
