If you own an Iridium Extreme satellite phone, activating the GEOS SOS service is a crucial step to ensure emergency support is available when you need it most. GEOS (IERCC) provides global emergency response coordination, and registering your device ensures that your SOS alerts are properly routed.
Important:
- An active Iridium SIM subscription is necessary to use the Extreme SOS feature.
- The GEOS SOS feature is not automatically active. It requires manual registration and set up.

- Ensure that your Iridium Extreme device is operating on Firmware version HL21001.
To enable the GEOS SOS service on your Iridium Extreme, you will need to perform the following:
Step 1: Register with GEOS (IERCC)
- Navigate to https://my-geos.com/registration

Fill in the GEOS registration form with your details:
- Select "Iridium Extreme" from the device options.

Provide the following details:
- Iridium phone number
- SIM card number
- IMEI number
- Personal information (name, address, country, citizenship)
- Primary and secondary emergency contacts
- Any relevant medical information
Step 2: Configure Extreme for use with GEOS (IERCC)
1. A warning message will be displayed, "WARNING! You have not configured GEOS Service", press Setup
2. Scroll to Use and press Select.
3. A message will be displayed, "Please confirm you have registered...", press OK.
4. Power the handset off and back on again.
5. When handset starts up, confirm the warning message is no longer presented.
6. You've successfully configured your handset for use with GEOS.
Note: If the warning message is not displayed, you can configure GEOS from the main menu.
Alternative Method of Configuring GEOS from Menu
1. Navigate to Menu > Set-up > Location Options > Emergency Options.
2. Scroll down to GEOS Service (the last menu option after “Call Recipient”).
3. From this menu option you will have the option to select Use.
4. You've successfully configured your handset for use with GEOS.
