Iridium Two-Stage Dialing is a forwarding service that allows callers to dial an Arizona-based number instead of dialing Iridium phone numbers directly. Callers will only be charged the applicable long-distance charges for calling Arizona as opposed to a much higher rate of calling the Iridium phone directly.
The Iridium subscriber receiving the two-staged dialed call is charged a low per-minute fee as well. These charges are applied immediately, regardless of what minute-plan the Iridium subscriber has (as minute packages are for outgoing calls, not inbound).
Iridium Prepaid cards get deducted standard outgoing per minute burn rates from the available balance.
Solution: Calling an Iridium subscriber using Two-Stage Dialing
- Dial 1-480-768-2500, a North American, Arizona-based number.
- When prompted, enter the 12-digit Iridium number you wish to call starting with 8816-XXX-XXXXX. Do not include any other prefix.
Example: If your Iridium number is 8816-310-12345, callers dial 1-480-768-2500, and when prompted, enter your 12-digit Iridium number 8816-310-12345.
Iridium subscriber incoming Two-Stage Dialing charges:
- Postpaid Monthly plans: $/min rates available on the Plans product page.
- Prepaid SIM cards: Units/min 'Burn rates' available on the Prepaid product page. (Typically burn rates are equivalent to outgoing calls)
